We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We also wish all a Happy Hanukkah!

Everyday, our unBox network is thankful to be in community with you all: an inspiring group of engaged food systems activists, advocates, researchers, and changemakers working at every level to fight food insecurity in the US.

This Thanksgiving, as we convened with friends and family, we also reflected on the history of this holiday and the colonial past it darkly reflects. Karlos Baca (Tewa, Diné and Nuche), founder of Taste Native Cuisine, urges all those who celebrate Thanksgiving to examine the impact of centuries of US colonial rule on Indigenous foodways in Decolonizing Thanksgiving and Reviving Indigenous Relationships to Food.

Furthermore, today is Giving Tuesday: a time to donate and volunteer, and to deeply reflect on the root causes of food insecurity in America, and act in in solidarity with the individuals and organizations leading advocacy campaigns for systemic change.
