- USA Today leveraged FOIA data collected and analyzed by unBox in a recent story spotlighting the SNAP Online Purchasing Program, bringing this critical issue to the nationwide food justice conversation!
- We presented our SNAP Online Guides to Los Angeles County's COVID-19 Communications Subcommittee, per advisor May Wang's generous invitation.
- BayAreaCommunity.org was featured in Open Referral's 2020 Year in Review, highlighting our efforts to empower information sharing, standardization, and quality across Bay Area social service data providers, using OR's Human Services Data Specification.
- A local news publication featured high school alumni now working with unBox!
Project Updates:
- We are finalizing the insights of our nationwide FOIA data requests on the SNAP Online Purchasing Pilot for release as a research brief. We look forward to publicizing the report to our academic institutions, advocacy partners, and legislative contacts.
- We joined a roundtable of SFUSD, SF Human Services Agency, and SF-Marin Food Bank representatives to help plan San Francisco's P-EBT outreach and awareness campaign.
